WoW Forever · Melee damage (Energy)

Combat Rogue

Combat gives a straightforward weapon-attacking route without requiring every opener to be a dagger attack from behind. Sinister Strike builds points, while Slice and Dice or a damage finisher spend them for different purposes. Riposte is conditional on a parry; keep that reactive event separate from your repeatable builder.

Current beta play is capped at level 30. Level 60 reference models and deeper talents are identified as later planning. Client descriptions and server updates can differ.

What this build asks you to do

Blade Flurry adds speed and strikes an additional nearby opponent. It is a choice about the fight you are in, not automatic permission to hit a controlled neighbour. Adrenaline Rush is a later Energy-regeneration window. Plan that burst around usable contact time rather than assuming it helps while you are travelling, disabled or waiting for an enemy.

  • Repeatable builders suit a clear solo weapon route.
  • Nearby cleave can disrupt control; a reactive attack is not permanently available.

Choose the next action

  • For an ordinary solo route, choose a usable builder for the weapon you have. Sinister Strike is different from the cited future model’s Backstab dagger/Puncturing Wounds setup.
  • Build points deliberately; the illustrated two-point state can take repeated ordinary builders. One Sinister Strike is not presented as automatically awarding two points.
  • Spend on Slice and Dice when useful contact time justifies its attack-speed benefit, or choose a damage finisher when the target needs an immediate finish.
  • Use Blade Flurry only when its additional nearby hit fits the pull. A controlled neighbour or unwanted extra pack is a reason to delay it.
  • Riposte needs a parry event, while later Adrenaline Rush creates an Energy window. Neither is a permanently available addition to every builder cycle.

  • Build Combo Points: Repeat the learned builder to reach this illustrated two-point state; one ordinary Sinister Strike is not shown awarding two points.
  • Spend on Slice and Dice: Spend the illustrative points on the attack-speed finisher rather than an immediate damage finisher.
  • Choose Blade Flurry: When learned, activate its nearby-target interaction only where hitting another enemy is appropriate.
  • Respect controlled targets: Do not infer that the additional opponent is safe to damage; stop or change the sequence when control matters.

    Understand the upgrade

Weapon comparisons and special-attack rules are different; speed alone does not rank the complete rotation.

Compare your actual level and learned talents; one crit or hit value is not interchangeable across every class.

These examples isolate attribute relationships. They are not a prediction of full ability DPS, threat, pet damage or survivability.

    Understand the upgrade
    Comparison Meaning
+10 Agility +10 baseline melee AP and +20 ranged AP; about +0.769 percentage points of weapon crit at level 30, before talents.
Weapon context Main-hand, off-hand and positional builder choices must be compared separately.
Survival or reserve A damage stat does not replace the health and resource reserve needed to finish the pull.

    Questing and group play

Combat can offer an uncomplicated solo weapon route while keeping reactive tools available. In a group, position for the selected builder and preserve enough Energy for an important interrupt. Keep the generic levelling plan distinct from the saved dagger preset: adopting its priorities means adopting the weapon and positional setup as well.

    Choose useful equipment

Compare main-hand usefulness, off-hand contribution and the builder’s weapon restriction rather than one combined item-level score. A sword route and a Backstab dagger route can prefer different weapons. Agility adds baseline attack power and level-dependent crit; it is not an identical fixed percentage at every level.
