Holy Paladin
Heal with a clear spell choice, manage mana deliberately, and keep Holy healing separate from Shockadin damage.
The current beta cap is level 30, announced 1 October 2026. Current-play advice and later level 60 planning are separated. Client tooltips and native data can lag server changes.
Holy Paladin rewards choosing the right heal for the next few seconds, rather than pressing the same spell regardless of damage. Your immediate task is to keep the group stable while preserving enough mana for the rest of the pull. This guide starts with the level 1–30 beta toolkit. Later talents are planning options, not buttons every beta healer already has.
Choose what you are trying to do
Build for the job you spend most of your time doing. A dedicated dungeon healer values dependable healing, mana management and recovery tools. A Shockadin puts more of the build into Holy damage and gives up some healing investment. Having Holy Shock does not make those two goals identical.
Players in the linked Holy/Shockadin discussion raise this exact distinction. Treat it as a useful planning question, not a settled ranking: if your friends expect you to heal, check the healing talents you are giving up before copying a damage build. For a mixed questing-and-dungeon character, keep a separate healing equipment set and decide which role your talent points support.

A practical healing loop
Watch who will need healing when your cast finishes. Holy Light is your larger casted-heal option; Flash of Light is the shorter cast once learned. Match the spell and rank to the missing health and the damage still arriving. A fast heal that is too small can leave the tank in danger, while an unnecessarily large heal wastes mana through overhealing.
At level 30, Holy Shock has a new talent rank. It is an instant heal or damage spell with a listed 10-second cooldown. Older references that start Holy Shock at level 40 describe a later rank. Use the instant option when movement or immediate healing makes a cast unsuitable, rather than assuming it is always the most efficient heal.
- Before the pull: check your mana, available heals and the group’s position. Stay where you can see and reach the tank without standing in avoidable danger.
- During steady damage: choose a heal that will meaningfully land. Reassess if another healer covers the target before your cast completes.
- When damage rises: start the larger response early enough to finish. Use a learned instant or emergency tool if waiting for the cast would be unsafe.
- When the group stabilizes: stop unnecessary casts and recover. Use Purify for removable poison or disease when removing the effect prevents more damage.

Talents change the next decision
Reverence has current client rank values 10/20/30% for mana regeneration continuing while casting. That is a retention effect, not a fixed amount of MP5 per Spirit. Compare the ranks you actually have and your reported regeneration under the relevant conditions.
Infusion of Light links Holy Shock and Flash of Light critical hits to a faster next Holy Light, with a cast-time reduction that depends on talent rank. Notice the proc before committing the follow-up heal. Divine Favor can secure the next eligible heal’s critical effect when talented, but that does not make the heal free. Illumination has rank-dependent mana returns; old Classic comments promising a full mana refund are not current evidence.

Read the stat gain before choosing the item
Intellect gives a concrete starting comparison. For a Paladin at level 30, +10 effective Intellect contributes about 0.313 percentage points of eligible spell crit in build 70205. If your starting total is already at least 20 Intellect, the configured mana gain is 150. If the upgrade crosses the first 20 points, calculate the before-and-after difference instead of multiplying every point by 15.
Healing stats, mana capacity and regeneration answer different problems. More mana gives room to spend; healing power changes eligible spell output; Spirit’s benefit depends on the actual regeneration conditions. A weapon’s Strength or AP is not a healing gain by itself. Avoid a single universal stat weight when one item solves running out of mana and another improves the heal that keeps the tank alive.

Level and train around your route
Early on, practice with Holy Light and add utility as it becomes available. Flash of Light’s first native rank is level 20; the current beta range also includes its level 26 rank. Holy Shock’s level 30 talent rank requires the relevant talent investment. Neither reaching a level nor finding the spell in a database automatically supplies the talent.
If you mainly heal groups, put your training budget into the heals and utility you will use on the next run. If most experience comes from solo quests, keep the damage tools you rely on current too. Compare each new heal rank’s displayed cost and useful healing rather than buying a rank because its name is familiar. Reserve travel and equipment money before spending the rest on seldom-used damage ranks.

| 20–29 | Add Flash of Light and compare its shorter cast with Holy Light’s larger response. |
| 30 | Consider the new Holy Shock talent rank if your build invests in it. |

Equipment and professions should support the job
Keep the stats that serve your role in view when comparing armor. A higher armor category does not automatically make an item a better healing upgrade. Check equip eligibility, useful healing or spell stats, Intellect, defensive value and what you give up in the other hand. Compare a two-handed option with the complete one-hand-and-off-hand combination.
Engineering can supply low-level goggles, but the wearer still needs the listed Engineering skill. Flying Tiger Goggles require 100 and Green Tinted Goggles require 150; their Stamina and Spirit are not direct healing power. Compare them against the actual alternatives available to your character. Do not call a profession mandatory for healing solely because a goggles route exists.

Later tools belong to later planning
Light’s Vigil is a deeper Holy talent with a linked Holy Shock interaction and a party-healing option. It belongs to later-build planning rather than the current level 30 healing loop. Check its actual target and mana commitment before treating it as an ordinary group-heal button.
For now, improve the repeatable fundamentals: useful healing landed, avoidable overhealing, dispels that stop further damage, and mana left for the next pull. Those observations are more reliable than predicting a final level 60 healing ranking from a beta tooltip.

Sources & scope
Use your learned spell ranks and current talent points; reaching a level does not automatically unlock every ability.
Beta tooltips can lag server changes. The current beta cap is level 30; later-build advice is identified separately.
Holy Shock has a new level 30 talent rank; older references that start it at level 40 describe a different rank.
Spirit has no verified universal conversion to MP5. Mana capacity, casting regeneration and healing output are separate benefits.
Healing advice assumes a healer role. A Shockadin damage build can make different talent and equipment trade-offs.
